Making sure everyone knows the guidelines helps keep a community running smoothly. Being on one accord and knowing what to expect diminishes confusion. The guidelines for the @needleworkmonday community are as follows:

When using the #needleworkmonday tag your post MUST be needlework related. This includes writing or sharing about any type of art involving a needle.

Your post must include your original handmade work and not have any plagiarism or filled with copy and paste content.

If you do use sources as part of your post (pictures, content from other sites etc.) they must be cited correctly.

Your posts need to be posted on Monday’s (according to your time zone). Posts that are uploaded all throughout the week using the tag will not be Resteemed.

If you want to share your needlework on days other than Monday’s please use the #needlework tag (without the word Monday attached) so that we can still find each other’s work.

Think of it like this, there is a special day reserved for each holiday. #NeedleWorkMonday is a holiday for needleworkers. Monday is our special reserved day :)

For our Featured Post we are looking for posts that:

follow the guidelines above
includes process pictures showing us how you created your items along the way
includes completed project photos (only if your project is complete)
has at least 100 words

Encouraging Support and Interaction within our Community

We are not a drop off and go community. Those of us who have been here for awhile have really taken a great effort to support, mingle and interact with one another. We welcome all needle artists to come join us on Monday’s but we do ask that you please take the time to support others as well. In order to receive support you need to give support. Please keep this in mind when using the #NeedleWorkMonday tag. Even supporting one other needle artists by upvoting and/or commenting on their post makes a world of difference!!

Displaying our needlework in Kraków, Poland for Art at STEEMFEST

Last year our needlework was displayed in the art gallery at Steemfest. We were able to contribute to the event right from our very own homes.

The pictures above show @everlove and her crew organizing the pictures for the wall display layout. This year they will not need to print out physical images, instead all of the artwork will be displayed on a 360 degree projections sphere!

If you would like to have your digitized artwork displayed at the pop/up art expo (November 7-11) please check out the requirements and follow the instructions listed in @roelandp’s post! Let’s show our best needlework and represent our community at this years Steemfest!

We’re Now on Discord!!!

The @steemitmamas community has generously given us our own little world set up in their Discord sever. Thank you to @khimgoh for working tirelessly to get everything set up for us to make sure things will run smoothly. Your commitment and dedication to help others is highly treasured!

@muscara (Discord name Hypatia), @shanibeer and myself are working together to help make this transition as easy as possible. Please bear with us as we are doing so in our spare time. Here is what you need to know:

1 . To join the @needleworkmonday discord server please click the invite link below. It will take you to the general welcome page.
2 . Once there please tag the @ MOD NeedleWorkers (no space between @ and MOD) so all of the mods will know you are there to join NeedleWorkMonday!
3 . You will then be assigned the Guest Needleworkers role.
4 . Drop an intro in the introductions channel giving us a little background about your needle niche. Please also include a link to your Steemit profile so everyone can know how to find you.
5 . After following these steps you will then be granted full access to the server!

We look forward to seeing you all there and are excited to chat with you directly. Once again your patience will be appreciated as us MODS continue to work out some details. We’ll see ya there!!

Thank you for joining us in our first issue of ’The NeedleWorkMonday RUN’.

Congratulations! This post has been chosen as one of the daily Whistle Stops for The STEEM Engine!

You can see your post's place along the track here: The Daily Whistle Stops, Issue 283 (10/16/18)

Yay! Congrats on your first RUN! Such a fitting abbreviation for Reports, Updates and News! And it is so cool about Steemfest! Great to see our fellow needlers' work get displayed as art :)

Thank you @marblely! I am so glad you liked our ‘RUN’! I hope we get a few that participates this year!!! This will definitely help get the word out about our community and the work we do ;)

Glad to see the first copy of our 'RUN' - well done!

There are several things that came to my mind:

  • I can't emphasise enough our community aspect: Let's not only show us the things we made, let's tell each other what we think about the other's project. Everyone of us likes to hear other people's opinions. If your RC isn't that great: Why don't you wait for the weekly Featured Post on Wednesday and write everything in one comment there?
  • You don't have to follow every needleworker (I don't) - but you should follow @Needleworkmonday!
  • Discord is a good way to ask questions about Steemit, about Needleworkmonday and a lot of other things. I really recommend joining us there and please: register your email on Discord (it will ask you to do that in the beginning). There are ways to get additional votes via some Discord communities ;)

Thank you @muscara! I am glad you liked our first ‘RUN’! Thank you for including these great points. I couldn’t agree more about Discord.

Today I'm still clearing the flood damage after Storm Callum here ... so I won't be posting just upvoting and commenting... It's been hard work :(

Thank you for the timely reminders - quite hard to 'enforce' though :D

I hope your efforts will soon show and the worst will be gone. Try not to let it get you down!

No worries, @muscara... Just little by little...

Sorry to hear about the storm @cryptocariad. Hope things will be back to normal soon. Whatever it is, make sure you take good care k? Take enough rests, do not overwork.

Thanks, @marblely. At least we got the boiler (= hot water and heating) back on today :D

Really sorry to hear about the floods @cryptocariad .... hope it hasn't brought too much destruction to your life...

It's fine, @vliet. We managed to contain the water in the kitchen and living room. We threw towels, duvet covers and old pillows in its path to soak it up a bit. Then we quickly made some sand bags. It was a true team effort :D

But everything must be destroyed, where the water was... I imagine there's a lot of effort involved when trying to fix the damage after a flood...

Indeed, @vliet. I try to avoid throwing things out so we have had the heating going to help us along. We will have to investigate whether or not books will have suffered on the bottom shelves... No worries though ... it's only material things that get affected.

I love how you think about this whole situation :) You are right, material things can be replaced.
All the best to you with restoring your life back to normal!

So sorry to hear about the aftermaths of the flood. So sorry you all are going through that. Stay encouraged and I hope it will be cleared soon with all of your hard work. We definitely understand even if you can’t upvote or comment, no pressure my dearest. You just take the time to focus on what’s at hand and try to relax from time to time if you can. 😘

hoping that things get back to normal asap and courage with the cleaning!

Thank you very much, @ecodesigns. It will definitely take a while to lift books from bottom shelves and drying things up to avoid throwing too much away...

Hang in there... I have been through flood damage. It is mind-blowing.@crytocariad

Thanks, @rebeccabe... it makes you evaluate the value of things you have much more. Sorry to hear you've also been through this experience.

That's so cool about SteemFest, I didn't know that! :D

Yes it is very cool! It was a great experience last year and I hope we get quite a few that participates this year :)

Congratulations on the first RUN and thanks for the update of the rules...
... oh dear, I just realized I posted my latest update on Sunday... ah well, next time I'll be more organized :)

Thanks for all the hard work making this community so lively and interesting!

Thank you so much @vliet! Thank you for taking the time to read it. It’s okay, I know it’s easier for some to post Sunday night before they go to sleep which is pretty close to Monday ;) I appreciate your attention to this, thank you ~

It’s truly a pleasure. Thank you for confirming that it is lively and interesting. It’s helpful and great to get this kind of feedback.

You are most welcome @neddleworkmonday !
You really deserve the best comments for your hard work and bringing everyone together!

Great Job Needleworkers!

Thanks for your support ~

Great job with RUN! Its an awesome initiative!

@needleworkmonday this is a good rule (idea)

• If you want to share your needlework on days other than Monday’s please use the #needlework tag (without the word Monday attached) so that we can still find each other’s work.

Thank you! I hope everyone catches on so we can get back to only using the main tag on Monday’s.
