Auto Voting or Manual Curation, What do you choose?

in STEEM FOR BETTERLIFE2 years ago (edited)

In the very first days of my Steemit, the voting power was very confusing for me. I would go ahead and vote almost every post and I never knew something like voting power existed. For the first 1 month I had no clue where to look at my voting power for and I would just randomly go on and on with my votes, not realizing it was at 10-20%. When I got a hang of it, I finally started building up on my voting power. Now I make sure that daily it goes to 100% and then I start voting again.

From the very beginning I have been following manual curation, and this has been my regular habit. I have never followed the auto vote system or followed any community curation trails.
There is nothing wrong, rather it is very convenient and you will not miss out on voting your favorite Steemian's content, but somewhere I feel it lacks the the personal touch.

Personally I have never been in favor of auto voting, it is a personal choice. It is a blessing for some people who are time constrained and do not wish to spend much time on the platform but again then the main essence of this place is lost.

My way of curation is the posts which are of my personal interest I read them well, some I briefly scroll through and some I do not read to be very honest. But at large I make it a point to give a quick run through to the post that I am voting

Manual curation helps me in keeping track of people who are regular on the platform and when they are not to be seen around for some time then it helps to follow up with them.
Manual curation is any day at advantage since I get to read new content, and gain additional knowledge as to understanding other people's view and opinions. On Auto voting this is missed out, the personal touch is lost and also that you do not really know what you are voting.

When I do manual curation it is also about distributing my votes equally.

In the auto vote system you save time and efforts but at the same time you are narrowing your vision only with a few people on the platform. In the bargain of convenience you may just not be doing the right thing in your vote distribution.

So what are your thoughts on manual curation vs auto voting?

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

You have said that auto-voting reduces our relationship. The fact is that whether one agrees with it or not, he has the right to choose.

Absolutely it is one's personal choice :-)

During the trajectory of each learning we are exposed and even to proceed groping and specifically in Steemit where there are many details that must be specific when executing them, however, as a saying says "The blows help to lift the feet" . Greetings.

Thank you for sharing your views.

I have never use the auto-voting. I manually upvote. If the title of the post seems interesting, I will read it. Otherwise, I will scan through when time permits.

That's what exactly I am also doing

Personally, I think that if the person does not have much time to connect, automatic voting is good, because otherwise, due to lack of time, they will not be in contact with their circle and they will not be able to vote.

There are many people, who have only invested in Steem and doing curation to earn some returns on their investment, for them probably auto voting is a good option for sure, and yes as you say again someone who lacks time.

I now set to world of xpillar Manual voting as I can’t rly keep up with it daily but I still manually upvote and esp when I comment. If there was more engagement I would do all manual but I find it a bit hard over here.

That is also a good option of following a credible community partly and partly executing it manually, that kind of balances.

Everyone needs feedback if they write with their own thinking and interest, it is an expectation, and only manual curation gives and fulfill the expectations.

Manual curation brings me a lot of satisfaction of using my VP rightly

I agree on auto voting is just a mechanism, not to understanding what one has written

You never read through on auto votes, so it's more about individual's interest, right.

Congratulations, your post has been upvoted by @scilwa, which is a curating account for @R2cornell's Discord Community. We can also be found on our hive community & peakd as well as on my Discord Server

In automatic voting, the person has to adapt to this type of technology, it is understood when it is said that the personal touch or human warmth is lost, but with the arrival of artificial intelligence, whether we like it or not, that is the future. Currently this self-voting program does not have artificial intelligence, but in the very near future it will, and not only will give votes, but will read the article, analyze it, learn from it, and depending on the topic, he will give the answer and the respective vote, and all with "Human Heat" but without feeling.

Ahhaaa, that technology will be kind of a boon for many, but again personally you will never feel connected with any member on the platform if that is largely followed. But then that's where the whole world is heading to, less human and more machine interactions

Everything will depend on the time available to each person, although I also biased by the balanced way, it is also good, that is, a manual week and then another automatic week.

That is also good to just keep a balance of your time. Specially when you are on holidays or engaged in some activity.
