#club100 || Steem Skillshare: The Four Novice Writers Mistakes and It Solutions

in Steem Skillshare3 years ago
Making mistakes in writing is a common thing. All humans make mistakes. The most common mistakes are punctuation, typo, or conjunction errors. However, if this mistake occurs repeatedly, It can be an error that makes our writing has no value.

On this occasion, I want to share my knowledge of writing with my Steemian friends. Today we learn about four mistakes we often make as novice writers. Hopefully, this short article can be an additional reference and solution for Steemian friends who have experienced it. Here are four beginner mistakes and their solutions:

1. There is no outline (Mind mapping)

It is the most important thing in making posts. It helps writers to build a narrative that fits the flow of writing. Without an outline, our script can spread everywhere and have no end. It is what keeps the script from being finished. It makes a post easy to complete.

2. Haunted by fear and overly perfectionist

It is the most common thing that every novice writer faces. Many feel inferior with every idea that is written. If you don't want to start writing, an idea will just be an idea. Fear is natural. But when the fear is too much, it will ruin everything.

Likewise, with a perfectionist attitude. It makes the writer face a dead end, even to the point of not wanting to continue the script that was already started. Perfectionists are not suitable for those who are new to the world of writing.

3. Editing before writing is complete.

Our mistake as novice writers is to focus too much on the rules of writing. Editing before the script finishes is a fatal error. It causes existing ideas to be lost due to a shift in focus. The thing to do to work around this is to write first, then edit to fix it.

4. Time management error

Many novice writers can't divide their time between work and writing. I also experienced the same thing when I first joined Steemit. But as time went on, I got more and more trained to write and found the right time to write. I spend a lot of time writing in the evening and the morning. Usually, after the morning prayer, I try to write an essay. Then write a paragraph or two. And finish the script at night before going to bed.

Time management is very important. Every day, I prepare my writing for publication the next day. Now my time is entirely for Steemit. I do not work for state agencies or institutions. I have found my identity here. I want to be a full-time writer on Steemit. And I believe I can.

As a Steemian friend, I want to offer a solution. So, this article can help Stemian friends who are new to the world of writing.

1. Outline as detailed as possible. It is helpful when there is a deadlock of ideas.
2. Get rid of fear and start to write. Everyone has their faults. Don't be inferior.
3. Edit your writing after the script is finished. Just edit what you feel is lacking. Do not exaggerate.
4. Arrange your writing time. I'm sure, all of us have the most comfortable time alone.

That's the novice writer's mistake I found. The conclusion is just written it first. Don't get stuck with negative thoughts that you will make mistakes. All the great writers today are those who have made mistakes.

Our mistake as novice writers is to focus too much on the rules of writing. Editing before the script finishes is a fatal error. It causes existing ideas to be lost due to a shift in focus.

This is very true,I can relate to this.
Most times I lost many important ideas when I edit script midway or before completion.
I discovered this recently and I changed.
I make sure to write everything down before scrutinizing it to correct any mistake.

Thank you @nadiaturrina for this useful tip on writing.
I look forward to seeing more post from u

I guess my problem lies within editing before writing, because I always put the necessary markdown while I'm still forming the story. But through your post, I've learned that it's a burden and it won't make my writing skills improve. So thank you for your Educative article.
