Growing Garlic in Garden
I was thinking of curating some of the posts which are specific to growing plants and herbs. I personally want to learn from the experience of other people. There are lot of things that one can learn from the experience of people from other cultures too. So I thought it'd be nice to curate posts which are specific on growing garlic.

DIY Network has plenty of in detailed posts on how to do things. And they have this one good post on how to grow garlic and shallots. The reason I added this post into my curation post is because this post is on steps to grow garlic. So for those who are just focusing on this part right now should check out their post. As it can be a good starting point for anyone who wishes to grow garlic.

Another good resource to check out is the fine gardening post on growing your own garlic. They seem to have covered small parts on what goes into the growing garlic. Lot of interesting tips and tricks given in the post. And you will learn a lot of things by the time you finish that post. I was not aware of the different type of the garlic before reading that post. Now I know there are different types including some imported ones.

Like most of my post, I keep the video instructables for the last. I found this podgardening video very interesting. I am sure many of you are going to love the process of growing garlic as explained in this video.
I think growing garlic is one of the good experience for anyone who wants to grow something that can be used for everyday usage. I am not sure how many among us can actively grow the garden as it requires a lot of patience. But it's one good exercise for anyone who is into homesteading and gardening.

I like garlic because of its great flavor and relative ease to grow. I didn't garden my garlic last year so more is growing this year, I need to thin them. I'm also doing an experiment to see if garlic can grow in a container not only for greens but for a head of garlic. Since people think it cannot because it needs a period of cold dormancy (almost like stratification for seeds!) Maybe I can simulate this with my refrigerator by moving the pot in there?
