Black & White Photo Contest - On the set of the movie - Paris

PARIS NOIR BLACK AND WHITE

So couple years back I've had an opportunity to work as a still photographer on the film short. I was so pleased to work with very talented people from London. Some people work on the daily basis with the top artists in the world, we had actors who been in films such as Saving Private Ryan or others who worked along with Johnny Depp. That was so exciting for me to be a part of this movie.

I was called last minute for this project, so I decided to jump on the boat.

Me, the crew and the cast were travelling to Paris from London in the 8 seater bus. Of course there were story on the way when we got by the boarder close to eurotunnel I've realised that I've forgot my passport. I was so stressed that I failed on the start, but we couldn't go back to London and luckily I was let out to France without passport - the only upcoming problem was the fact that apparently it is easy to get out from UK, however to come back it's not that easy.... Anyway I was happy that I could continue further journey with the crew.

The film style was Artistic Black and white Noir style, with amazing jazz music, here you can see :

We were shooting every night for 4 days, Paris is great city for shooting at night as you don't need permission unlikely in London, generally we didn't have problems apart one dude tried to still my camera. Street of Paris at 4 am are just amazing, emptiness and great architecture. I was so stressed out as I knew we are coming back and I still don't have my passport, sending it from UK was to risky, so I rang my friend and ask him to scan my passport and send copy on email. My time in Paris was shooting at night in the cold (it was end of January) and in the morning trying to sort out my passport. Anyway I was mostly focused to take as good images as I can as I didn't want to let down the team.

Feel had a lot of mood, I've tried to get as much as I could to deliver right mood of this short.

Perhaps it's not everyone cup of tea as nowadays mostly popular are colorful images, however BW didn't die and in my opinion has so much character, that was big challenging for me, as usually my style of photos is different.

I've took all images on Canon MK2, with no additional light. Just high ISO, I think the cast made great job. This is only few images from this project. Im really proud of the outcome. Even I've had opportunity to photograph for magazines, different places in the world this is still one of my favourite project. I believe it is because it's different than my usual stuff, I've had to focus on emotion, composition and general feel.

I already done post with this pictures on one of my first post, however I've had to do it second time, as I believe this shouldn't be unnoticed. I hope you like it.
