Drifting Away - Poetry

Away with it,
All of it,
In equal measures,
Walking short measured steps.

In the middle,
When the sun is at it's peak,
An absence that cast a dark shadow,
Cast an even more darker one in the soul.

If with a turn around the curve,
All things could be set straight,
Harder to know,
Nothing lasts forever.

A bitter truth,
When it wasn't yours to be,
Sadness prevails,
As at the end it is all but eventual.
