Remember to look down!
Last post I took a shot of the sunset, and included what is often seen as a detractor to landscape/sunset pictures: utility poles. Sometimes it is difficult or impossible to get a shot without including these obstacles; in that case my advice it to include them!
Today's shot is a sand covered manhole cover! Japan has some very decorative manhole covers!

This particular one has うすい USUI written on the bottom, denoting that the water flowing through the pipes below is run-off water, sewage and drinking water are also distinctly marked.
this is amazing bro :)
Thanks for your continued support @jassi! Haha just have to keep your eyes open!
japanese are very sharp minded :p and nyc article
It's certainly nicer than a plain textured steel plate!
Many tourists have to take a photo of manhole cover when they visit in Japan.
I think most cities in Japan have their own design! They certainly have their own mascots!
I think so.
That’s a cool manhole cover! I’ve been taking pictures of these for a while now, haven’t seen this one yet.
This one is in Tondabayashi, Osaka.
There may be similar ones elsewhere but I think they are different for each city (that contracts a design at the forge where they are made).
Yeah, you’re right! Each city has a few different designs...some of them are really cool! Very arty!
