How to Apply Black Eyeshadow as Eyeliner | 2 Easy but Amazing Techniques

Using black eyeshadow as a liner is very easy, and you can decide what finish you want to achieve by either applying it dry for a softer look or wet for a more intense look.

This video deals with two such easy but amazing techniques for applying black eyeshadow.

The tools that you will need for dry application:

• A black eyeshadow from your favorite brand
• A flat/dense eyeshadow brush
• A mascara of your choice

Version 1: The dry black eyeliner technique:

To create a softer eye look with the black eyeshadow, use a flat-dense eyeshadow brush.

Dab into the shadow and apply the black eyeshadow along your upper lash line, from the inner to the outer corner.

Dab the brush in the shadow again and draw a small wing from the outer corner of your eye towards the brow tail; this way, you will have an angle and direction to follow.

Now, soften the shadow while smudging over it with the brush to smoothen any harsh lines.

The tools that you will need for a wet application:

-A black eyeshadow
-A liner brush
-A cup of water
-A mascara

Version 2: The wet black eyeliner technique:

To create a more intense liner, use water and a liner brush.

Dip the brush into the cup of water and then take some black shadow on it. Swirl the brush around in the product to coat it with the eyeshadow on all the bristles – make sure that the tip stays pointed.

Now, line your eyes by moving from the inner to the outer corner and create a wing. Wetting the brush and taking the product on the brush repeatedly will help intensify the color. Once you’ve created a line, wait for it to dry.

Tip: If you wish for your eyeshadow-liner to stay on longer, use a special eyeliner sealer.

Step 3: Apply mascara

To make sure that your eyes pop out further, add some of your favorite mascara. This will bring the whole look together!
