Emotional Mastery - Change Your Emotional State To Create Success

In this article we will discuss how you can shift your emotional state from one of anger to another. Emotions are chemicals that are in your body and they are usually produced when you are experiencing some form of stress. When you are under stress, your body releases more chemicals and your emotions respond to the stress by ramping up to a high level.


When you are in an angry state, your heart rate goes up, blood flows faster, you start sweating, you feel tense, and your nervous system sends signals to your autonomic systems. These systems are part of your brain that regulate many aspects of your body and they respond by sending negative or positive messages. An example of a possible positive message that might be sent to your autonomous nervous system is "I feel stressed." However, when you are in an emotional state like anger this message may be "I feel angry".

As we mentioned above, stress is part of our everyday lives and it is something that people deal with on a daily basis. When you go through periods of stress, your brain will have an automatic reaction in which your body releases hormones that elevate your adrenaline level. This raises your heart rate, increases your breathing rate, provides you with more energy, and makes you feel stronger. These are all physiological responses that are designed to get you out of the "fight or flight" mode and bring you back to a more relaxed state.

However, stress can also cause a shift in your emotional response. When you have a strong emotional response to something, this can actually override the signals that the sympathetic nervous system sent to your brain regarding the emotional stimulus. This means that you can have a totally opposite emotional response as well as a physical one! People who experience feelings of anger often do not communicate that they are angry. They instead try to resolve their issue by expressing even more anger!

When you learn how to shift your emotional states so that you are in control, you are able to shift your attention from your reactions to your thoughts. For example, if you are dealing with an angry person, you are likely to engage them in a power struggle. You may attempt to gain some kind of control over them. You may tell them that you do not know how they will react and that you don't care what they do.

The problem with this strategy is that your actions tend to follow your words. If you tell them that you don't care what they do, they are likely to try to control you by telling you things like, "You are being harsh" or "Don't you think you are being overly sensitive?" This will only increase your feelings of anger. In order to effectively use the "power struggle" approach, you need to learn how to shift your emotional states away from the negative and towards the positive. You can then make decisions based on what you want rather than what others request.

Emotional mastery is the ability to change your emotional states to those that promote harmony and higher-level change. It requires that you pay attention to your own feelings and how they are impacting your life. It is also a process that takes time, effort, and patience. Yet, the results are well worth it because you then have a framework for improving your relationships and achieving greater success in all aspects of your life. Emotional mastery allows you to take real action instead of simply reacting to events.


It is important to note that emotional mastery is also related to your own awareness of the internal work that you are performing. If you continue to experience feelings of anger, stress, and anxiety in the midst of a stressful situation, you are using these emotions as a means to divert your attention from the negative and to control the environment in which you find yourself. The purpose of this diversion is to shift your attention out of the problem (the problem being in your mind) and onto a more positive note. By shifting your attention, you are actually lessening the impact of the negative on your body and your mind.
