Pastel Skies
I left the house this morning, and I said to myself "Hey dumb-dumb -- you're trying to get better at photography. Why don't you take the camera, instead of just your phone and then getting upset at yourself for only having a phone."
Downtown Victoria BC. Looking downhill on Douglas Street
As I was walking past my favorite liquor store, I thought the sky looked amazing, and I decided to take a brief moment and try to see if I could capture it. I could hear @caitycat in my head:
Ugh. Just let me do it.
That's not helpful. I fiddled with knobs until the aperture changed, to something more reasonable, and all of a sudden, the pictures weren't blurry anymore. It was just my eyes, because it was still early.
Lovely colors. Perfect timing.. well done keep up the good work:)
Thanks! I'll try!
If you want to get better at photography you need to realize too that the best camera is always the one you have with you. And in the case you just have your phone with you, then this is the best camera. Sure a good camera can make a big difference in some situations, but actually the current smartphone cameras are really good. In some situations you can get professional results even with those.
Anyways, the photo is really nice! I love the red tones in the sky. What camera are you using?
Thanks! That's actually a pretty good motto. I've certainly snapped a couple decent photos with my phone -- most of the stuff I post here has been from my phone, now that I think about it.
Just rockin' a little Canon Powershot G5X. No fancy DSLR -- that's @caitycat's department.
Thanks for the comment!
Unfortunately the motto is not from me, but I heared it some years back and I think it speaks truth. Most people don't realize that great photographer don't need a expensive fency camera but the technique behind it and the eye for an motive is the important part, as a camera is just an tool in the end. :) Anyways, I am happy to see that a lot of people are going the same path I have gone too (not that I am now a professional photographer or so, but I am happy to see so many people enjoying photography like I do).
