Hotpot & Fondue

Friends had suggested we try out the food at a new restaurant in town. It served delicious hotpot with a twist. We decided to give it a try and had an enjoyable dining experience. The twist everyone was talking about was that at the end of the meal, we were served a fruit and ice cream platter with chocolate fondue.

Quite a novelty. The ice cream was melting pretty quickly and after a spicy and hot soupy meal, I felt ice cream would give us tummy ache. What happened next was so embarrassing and ridiculous. My son started to drink the chocolate sauce from a wafer stick! He argued that it was not a fine dining place and that we should always remember to 'waste not, want not'.

Typical with many eateries, the paying crowd fizzled out when the novelty wears off. The restaurant has since closed down and the building is now occupied by some Japanese fusion restaurant.
