Introducing Our ‘Earth Centered Living’ Vlog Series on DTube!
We are excited to announce that we will be focusing on a D.Tube Vlog series over the next week in order to answer questions that a group of college students sent us.
A couple months ago I received a note on instagram from a friend of a friend who teaches college courses and is specifically doing one on earth-centered living this semester. She asked if we'd be interested in speaking with her class.
They came up with some awesome questions for us and we're going to answer them in Vlog format. For anyone following along, this is also a way to get to know us better and get some insight into our homesteading, off grid lifestyle. Our drive is indeed to live in close connection with the earth and we're happy to share our thoughts.
Here are the questions.
Introducing Earth Centered Living Vlog Series
- Logistics of our life: Do you have electricity? What percent of your food do you grow/gather yourself? What do you still buy at the store?
- Transition from “mainstream” society to homesteading: How did you make the decision to live like this and why? What, if anything, do you miss? Do you think you’ll ever transition back to “normal” society?
- What crops do you grow?
- What challenges does winter bring and how do you get through them?
- What are the biggest benefits and drawbacks to living the way you do?
- What is your day like? Do you get bored? Do you get annoyed with your family (because you see few other people)?
- What advice would you give to someone wanting to live in a way that’s more in tune with nature?
- What new discoveries have you made/surprises have you had?
- What is the “craziest thing you’ve witnessed with regard to wildlife?”
- Finally, people were interested in your dog. Is it hard to take care of a pet where you live? What does your dog eat?
We'll likely combine videos as we see fit and make at least a few vlogs asking these questions. They're great questions and we look forward to giving them some thought and presenting our reflections to our community.
Tulsi seeding!
As we made so many shifts and learned so much about ourselves and shaped our worldview in college, we're really looking forward to connecting with these students and putting in a good word for earth-centered living.
