Blog of a miner : Comparison between EWBF Vs Dstm (Zm) vs Bminer

Comparison between EWBF Vs Dstm (Zm) vs Bminer
French version here : FRENCH
Hello the Cryptos-fans!
You are many to have asked for it to me and after + - 5 days of tests, work and compilation of data, for here it is at last:
the comparative degree of the software of mining for Equihash: EWBF Vs Bminer Vs Dstm (Zm)
Foreword:
Before beginning to present you the results, I am anxious at first to tell you that it is here a simple comparative test. I tried to be the most reproducible and the most meticulous in my way of proceeding but you should not take on no account these results as a reference or an objective to achieve or to exceed.
The purpose was with my material to highlight which software is at the moment more "powerful" to mine of Equihash with MY configuration. Thus the results can be better or less good with your config. According to your undervolt and overclock, a software could possibly be better than an other one and not to correspond to my classification.
As indicated higher, I do not know how long this comparative degree will be valid. With the evolution of the new versions, it would be possible that a software takes the influence on the others and if you read this article in 1 year, it is a safe bet that the classification will have changed and that new software of mining will have appeared.
Protocols of tests:
To realize this comparative degree, I mined on the pool Zenmine some Zencash by slice of 24 hours with every software (I even realized reproductions of tests to confirm the results).
The tests were realized with Windows 10 and the last drivers Nvidia 390.65
Here are the versions of miners:
EWBF: V 0.3.4b
Zm: V 0.5.8
Bminer: V 5.3.0
No modification of software, the fees are 2 %
Concerning my rigs, here is their configurations (via Msi Afterburner):
In the results, I am going to present you those obtained by the pool, but also those sent back by the software of mining.
Results :
In the first place, here is Hashrate perceived by the pool on 30min (little representative, it evolves enormously) and over 24 hours (more interesting)
From left to right: EWBF - Zm - Bminer

Over 24 hours, we notice that Zm takes it easily followed closely by Bminer, EWBF being lagging behind.
If Zm = 100 %; then Bminer = 96.32 % and EWBF = 93.46 % we are all the same unless 10 % of differences between the various software.
Here is then the evolution of Hashrate during 24 hours(12 pm) (from top to bottom: EWBF-Zm - Bminer)

It is difficult to draw a conclusion seen the low differences between miners. The only thing which we could possibly say is that Bminer seems to have a rate of hash "more stable" (fewer spades of variation) and EWBF presents it most.
Here is maintaining the rate of hash on 30min (once again, little representative) and over 24 hours of every rig separately (from top to bottom: EWBF - Zm - Bminer)

It is possible to pull several information of this image:
- The GTX 1080 seem more comfortable under Bminer than under Zm and EWBF (8 %)
- For the GTX on 1070, it is Zm who offer the max of perfs (respectively 6,7 % and + 7,5 %)
- EWBF is last but offers perfs very close to other miners
To finish, here is the average hash perceived by the software of mining for the rig of GTX on 1080 (I unfortunately have even no return for 1070, my bad)
EWBF: 1625 h/s
Zm: 1652 h/s
Bminer: 1704 h/s
Here we are thus at the end of this article, it is possible to interpret these figures of a very numerous way but we notice in the end that the difference between miners is relatively low (but not unimportant!).
Each possesses the own way it works and some let us prefer the interface of the one or the other one.
You should not however forget that it is impossible for me to know what hides behind Hash sent back by the pool Zenmine. is it representative? I know nothing about it. On another pool, I would maybe have had totally different results. To see also with another corner.
As indicated higher, take these values purely for information purposes.
In my case, the only conclusion which I can pull is to use Bminer for my GTX on 1080 and Zm for the 1070 if I wish to obtain the maximum of hashrate.
Before finishing, I know that there are still other software of mining for Equihash as Excavator for example. However, I migrated at present my rigs on other algorithms and I did not have time to test these miners.
However, I would not miss to add to this test the other software when the opportunity will appear. Idem if new software had to be born.
You arrive now at the end of this article. I hope that will have liked you.
Hesitate not to contact me if you wish more precision concerning my tests or for quite different questions.
