KL Chilli Ban Mee

Among all types of cuisine over the world, there is one type that really stands out when it comes to variety - it's the Chinese cuisine. Even a simple noodle dish would have a lot of variety depending on which region or province in China. In addition, there are also distinction when a Chinese cuisine was brought to other places of Asia.
Here is Singapore, Chinese cuisine is considered to be one of the majority. It was brought periodicaly by Chinese immigrants from 1820's until around 1920's.
The Chinese cuisine flourished and became well accepted here in Singapore. Aside from local Singapore-Chinese cuisine, the Malaysian-Chinese cuisine also became well known in this country. Which I will be sharing for today.
My Tasteem post is about the KL Chilli Ban Mee, which is one of the best in my personal taste. In some restaurant, they will call it "Ban Mian" which is either served as dry version or the version with soup.
Both we're made using the same ingredients, the difference is the manner of finalizing the dish. For this meal, I went for the dry version.
In this dish, I had the one with Prawns which are fresh and tender, minced pork (specially braised in soy sauce), Ikan bilis (dried anchovies), the noodles of course, and the poached egg served on top.
After adding all the sauces and a teaspoon of chilli paste, I have to break the eggyolk and let it soaked on to the dish. The flowing yolk actually adds creamy texture to the dish, which I really like.
Let's talk about the place, firstly, it's air conditioned which is comfortable especially when eating spicy food like this one. The ventilation however, isn't really working well. It has a stuffy ambience but not too much, it's still manageable.
Since I came to this place for the good food, the place is just second to my concerns. My verdict? I'm well satisfied on the food, it's tasty, and it's also well prepared.
