Netherlands Tulip Garden - Keukenhof

in #travel9 years ago (edited)

Keukenhof, which means, 'kitchen garden' in dutch (keuken for kitchen), is one of the world's beautiful and largest tulip gardens. It is located in Lisse, which is a small town in South Holland. Keukenhof is also called the Garden of Europe. Every year, approximately 7 million flower bulbs are planted in the garden, covering an area of around 79 acres.

Keukenhof is open annually for tourists from mid March to mid May.

The Keukenhof features different garden styles. For example, the English landscape, the historical garden, the Russian theme, the nature garden, and the Japanese country garden. The Keukenhof doesn't have the long tulip fields, as many tourists expect. The tulip fields are situated on the way to Keukenhof.
