That first photo is a bit scary, the Deer has the full on look of get out of my way or your getting a chest full of my antlers. The second one is quite the noble pose - what did you use for bribing the Deer?
Just a hand full of nuts and my own sweet charm lol. We were sitting in a 4x4 covered in a roll cage and bars. No way I was getting in front of this chap. Way to dangerous with those huge antlers.
I think that pink colour is just the left overs from the velvet coating that covers the antlers when they are growing. They are a pretty awesome set of antlers.
They are pretty huge animals when you get up close. They are very well cared for and are basically wild but just stay put because they get fed everyday. Sweet deal all around as we get to see them. They are usually very illusive animals.

What are the pock marks on that buck’s snout in the first image? These are some terrific and fortuitous shots!

Poor thing! Was the next picture the same buck? If so, how did he get the flies to depart?
The fly's probably went for lunch?
