Death Note - All time favorite
As I was saying in my last post about my favorite cartoon made into movies, a friend actually made understand the difference between cartoons and anime. Cartoons are basically just cartoons, but anime are more mature gory versions of cartoon, mostly series and are mostly Japanese. Actually it wasn't until I got pretty much older that I began watching animes, the anime majority of people my age will be very familiar with is Naruto, there was so much buzz about it then.
I cannot really remember why I didn't join the band wagon because majority of my friends were totally obsessed with it, they had the comic, the movie, the game, one even had a set of Naruto branded pyjamas lol. Yes the craze was real. For me, that was where I knew about chakra! I can't really say why I never got myself caught up in the craze, I don't think I ever watched a particular episode till the end.
Samurai X was my first ever anime, my next was Bleach

Oh yes this was one that had me hooked for a while, the storyline, the stunts, the characters were all pretty amazing, though a lot of Naruto fans will beg to differ, a bunch of them think it's boring, but as for me, I found it interesting enough to go back to it the next day. I never finished it anyway, it had about 500 episodes, yes, the unending factor was the only thing I did not like about it, and it was never made into a movie.
However, my all time favorite anime is titled Death Note! If you're not a fan of anime, or you are indifferent about them, I will recommend you to watch this one because, as an anime, it beat hundreds of box office movies. Japanese are damn right good, this anime is fiction yes, but it is the realest fiction I've ever seen in my history of watching anime.
I say again that it beat hundreds of box office movies hands down. It is not a play or fun kind of anime, the storyline is some really serious stuff, I would have loved to give you the whole story but I'm afraid I will ruin it, the only spoiler I can give you is that it has to do with death god and a book of death, a Japanese myth.
And just recently I found out that it had been made into a movie, it was so good that there had to be an American version of the movie ofcourse directed by the Japanese and shot in Seoul just to maintain the Japanese effect. Like other anime made into movies I was skeptical about what to expect, and I can tell you that again, I was wowed!
When something is good it's just good, the characters, the storyline, the action, the thrill, all were in sync with the anime. The movie stands as my best anime turned movie of all time. I really recommend this one, you will love it.
