Patan Dubar

Robed in garbs of nothingness
Promenade the courts of Durbar

Only the pure
The wise and educated one

Can see

This masterpiece of fine linen
Strewn by hands of royal subjects
Spun with silk of the orient
Stitched by the finest tailors
From ancient shores

Their final creation revealed to you
Members of the court of Durbar

Be amazed at the handiwork
The lovely craftsmanship

Only to you with eyes of purity
With royal demeanor can see

As for other commoners
They have much to lack
As insight they have none
They miss the beauty of the Emperor’s clothes

Nice clothes
Such a fine article sir
Lovely indeed my dear
Compliments bubble with champagne

A small voice peeps up from the back of the room
“He tain’t got no clothes!!”

There is no great content
Only “content” or “no content”
Empty contains nothing
Full contains something

The emperor’s content was nothing but a joke
His desire to be great and noble was covered by a lie
His clothes were to no advantage
As he marched in Vanity Fair

I don't want to point fingers but there is a lot of emptiness going around. I'm thankful for those like the little boy who speaks up and tells it like it is. I'm also thankful for Steemit a platform that allows authors to speak their mind all over the world. Yet emptiness appears here too. I think the best way to fight emptiness it is to concentrate on something meaningful, something good and something beautiful.
