The world doesn’t end with a HF
I read earlier today that this is gonna be the last post that will be paid out under the HF20 economic system.

I have to admit that when I first heard of the upcoming changes I was kinda stunned. All these changes implemented at once...
Authors will experience a major blow to their payouts. That is a fact. Another fact is that small accounts that are totally depended on their posts to earn some steem and hold small amounts of SP will be affected more than anyone else, BUT!
If the 50 / 50 split, the smaller auction window, the EIP and all the rest of the changes are necessary to trigger big stake holders to be active again instead of delegating their stake and earn passively, I say let’s do it NOW. Not even next week but NOW.
One thing is certain. That under the current HF things didn’t play out so well.
Daily activity isn’t exactly what someone would expect. In fact it is declining. The price of steem isn’t an ally at the moment, maybe that’s why...
You see, people evaluate their time differently and not everyone is willing to spend hours after hours to earn a dollar. Maybe even less...
But it’s their choice...
Do I expect things to get worse?
Well, I really DO hope that we’ve reached the bottom and from now on things will get better.
The first couple of weeks might be a bit strange. People will experiment...they will use their free downvotes, maybe even flag wars will be back in the daily menu again...who knows.
Some new arrivals are on their way...
Some others are already standing before the exit...
Eventually, when the dust settles down we’ll have a clearer picture of the new model.
Patiently waiting...just like you do.

Don't really care at this stage. I'll keep posting and playing steemmonsters. Read some interesting articles and enjoy STEEM. The mechanics don't bother me.

It won't happen until Steemit Inc will be still dumping large amounts of STEEM on montly basis on the market :(
Major two things (for common user) that will change is:
a) non-linear reward curve - it will most likely "kill" culture of upvoting comments (time will tell).
b) 50/50 reward split - since PALnet seem to be leading in that direction we can already witness how does it really work. And so far it seem that 50/50 only create extra selling pressure, since curators are more willing to dump their easy earned PAL tokens. Can we expect different behaviour on Steemit? Why would we?
I'm full of hopes that HF21 will make things better, but right now I'm not very optimistic. I strongly believe that when it comes to PRICE steem has still long way to go (down).
