This hardly sounds like a fair distribution of social goods.
However, the dream of a meritocracy remains, often touted most vociferously by elites who argue that in a market-driven democracy, the best do rise to the top, quite naturally.
The caveat the elites don't talk about is that it's THEIR meritocracy they refer to. - Their social group .
They only care about you gullibility, your corruptibility, and an overwhelming willingness
to sell your soul to them.
whoever works hardest deserves the rewards, "fairness" only comes to mind if you think others owe you something...they don't
