Finding a Henry Rifle

The post My Christmas Present Last Year reviewed my issue of finding a particular rifle I would like to get. A particular rifle that I was going to get for Christmas last year but haven't been able to locate. The rifle is a Henry Frontier rifle in the .17 HMR caliber, very difficult to find.

I am currently in Alabama versus at home in Indiana but yesterday I had a few minutes to spare and decided to stop by a Cabela's that I drive by often when here. I was hoping to luck up and they had one in stock or could get one quickly before I return to Indiana. No such luck. The good news is they do have some of these rifles available within their stores across the country, but it would take 5 -8 business days to get the gun where I can pick it up. By then I'll be back in Indiana.

The people at Cabela's were extremely helpful. Determining that they did in fact have some of these rifles in their system, just not at their store. They provided me with a search code for quickly finding this rifle on the Cabela's website and explained how I would be able to order it online and have it delivered to a store near me in Indiana. The nearest Cabela's in Indiana is still 45 minutes away but maybe I'll still get my Christmas present. The people at Cabela's also explained the Gun Library to me as being used guns they also have for sale, that I may be able to find the rifle there.

If you've never been to a Cabela's it's worth a trip in. They normally have a display of various full size mounted animals to look at and a nice fish aquarium with wild fish, it's all very interesting. Although I would have liked to have had the rifle this summer, now at least I have a possible avenue to finding one.
