Japanese 'Virtual Currency Girls' Idol Group: Idealistic Or Greedy? What Do You Think?
The crypto craze in Japan has reached unknown heights. A female idol group called ‘Virtual Currency Girls’ tries to bring crypto-awareness to the masses. In Japan, anything is possible…
While the world is buzzing about virtual currencies, a Japanese agency known as the ‘Cinderella Academy’ created a a female idol group called ‘Virtual Currency Girls’ with the main purpose of bringing more awareness to the masses.
Each of the Japanese ‘Virtual Currency Girls’ represents a different currency:
- Rara Naruse represents Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
- Hinano Shirahama represents Bitcoin (BTC)
- Ami Amo represents Ethereum (ETH)
- Suzuka Minami represents NEO (NEO)
- Momo Aisu represents MonaCoin (MONA)
- Kanako Matsuzawa represents Cardano (ADA)
- Koharu Kamikawa represents NEM (XEM)
- Hinata Kozuki represents Ripple (XRP)
In an announcement, the agency clarifies that the idea is not just to promote the use of virtual currency as a speculation tool but also to provide the knowledge that it is a technology that has the power to build a wonderful future.
Leader Naruse Rara commented:
Virtual Currency Girls is a unit that carefully selects future currencies from a number of virtual currencies and spreads correct knowledge through entertainment.
In my humble opinion, The Cinderella Academy is simply trying to capitalize on the opportunity and gain profits. For example, they are selling the Virtual Currency Girl’s merchandise and live tickets for Ethereum and Bitcoin only.
To see proof that this idol group will actually spread correct information and knowledge about cryptocurrencies, we will have to wait and see.
What’s your opinion on this Japanese marketing stunt? Do you think it’s a genuine effort to actually teach the world about cryptos or not?
