Making Extra Steem While Helping the Community
Since a few months, I have been giving my Steem Power levels an extra boost. The easiest way to do so is of course by dumping your fiat or other cryptos into the Steemit system. Unfortunately for me, I only have the liquidity to power up to a certain amount every now and then.
A nice service that can give your growth on the platform a little extra boost is @steemcleaners. This project aims to keep Steemit clean. Meaning that it tries to reduce the amount of abuse and keep things like plagiarism to a minimum.
So how will it make me benefit?
How will this help your progress you might ask? Well, Steem Cleaners relies on users who help and report all kinds of abuse. In return for your effort, you receive Steem Power. It's a win-win-win kind of situation!
In order to report abuse, you should read the requirements on their website steemcleaners.org. Once you know what the guys of Steam Cleaners are looking for you can start reporting through their online report-form.
And that's it! After submission, the folks of Steemcleaners will check the report and, based on their evaluation, payout an amount of Steem Power.
Is it worth the effort?
The payout after reporting varies from time to time. And it might not always be as much as you would have hoped for. But the beautiful thing is that reporting is an activity you can do during the dull moments in your day! I do some abuse reporting, for example, while waiting on the bus or when I have a few minutes of downtime at work.
To give you a rough idea on how much I made by reporting to @steemcleaners, here is an overview of the Steem Power I've made the past months:
As you can see it is not too much. But definitely worth it considering that I only report to @steemcleaners when I am not able to do anything useful anyway.
Not only you will profit.
Appart from the users who are reporting the abuse, also the community benefits. In the end, the @steemcleaners project will improve the quality of posts (reducing plagiarism for example) and the user experience on the platform (no comment spam). Something I think will add value for all of us in the long run!
To conclude, I think everyone should once in a while report some abuse. If not willing to actively hunt for it, you can at least report it when you come across abuse by pure coincidence!

Have a nice day everyone!
