Christmas carding

in #crafts10 years ago

Yesterday I spent my birthday doing exactly what I wanted (it was all about me of course!)

Dancing, drinking, carousing, getting into trouble… not really… this ear infection has really kicked my arse. We settled down in the warmth of our living room and I made some Christmas cards.

This was the first one I made – for my best friend Anna and her fiancé Matt.

@s0u1 took me to The Range and though I was tempted, I didn’t spend loads and loads of cash – PLUS I looked to see if there were any bargains on.

I bought a pack of 50 scalloped cards with envelopes, 8 sets of Christmas stickers (half-price – yay!), 3 x coloured glitter glue and a roll of double-sided sticky foam.

I always save old Christmas cards but usually I cut them up to make gift tags. This is the first year I’ve made cards.

The best thing about these stickers though – two for one! No, not on the price, on the actual stickers.

The sticker comes off the backing paper in one piece and it’s beautiful!

It leaves a ‘negative’ behind and I cut that out and stuck it to the card with the double-sided sticky-back foam.

I’ve also made cards for hubby to take for work too.

They may not have worked out as cheap as the cards you buy in the shops, but they are really satisfying to look at and think ‘I made that!’

The cards for hubby’s work were made from card I have already, cut down to fit envelopes I have already too.

I prefer homemade cards to bought ones, they mean more :)

Good handmade work is. I will folow you, Michelle.

Thank you! I always follow back too :)
