Alberto's, A Humble Place For Good Pizza
Here in the Philippines, we have a famous affordable pizza chain called Alberto's. They have a lot of branches nationwide because people are fond of their pizza. Me and my friends would often call their pizza as "roadside pizza" or "dust-flavored pizza" because it's unbelievably cheap and they are sold in their simple looking stores.
I dropped by yesterday around 8 pm and they were still busy. The store closes around 12 midnight. The store is in an old wooden house.
Going in, you'd see their big menu board on top of their small counter.
Students and people from all walks of life are their usual customers because their prizes are budget-friendly. They go directly to the counter to say their orders and pay because it's "pay as you order."
It was busy and I waited for a bit for my turn. I was given number 21 as a priority number and I ordered Pizza Supreme, 9 inches, which was just 110 pesos which is barely $2. $1 is 52 Pesos here. They gave me a flyer of their menu with the prices to take with me, I guess this is for reference if I want to order via phone and have it delivered at home.
This is how they box their pizza. The box itself has the list of all their branches and their contact information. They have another flyer tucked in, then there's a sachet of tomato ketchup, and 2 sachets of hot sauce.
Voila! Their pizza is thin crust and loaded with a little bit of everything. Their Pizza Supreme is loaded with pepperoni, bacon, mushroom, onion, pineapple tidbits, olives, green bell pepper, pizza sauce and cheese, of course.
Obviously it isn't your high-end pizza but if you are here in the Philippines, you would really hear from a lot of people how good this pizza chain is with their pizza. It's more than your money's worth and what's best about it is you can feed a lot of people even with a little budget but you won't be ashamed of how it's gonna taste. They've been consistent about this reputation and I hope they continue to feed us with good but cheap pizza.
