Introduction

Oftentimes we tend to admire things, success and glory and wish they are ours. it is good to admire things and wish it is ours but our motive will determine whether it is good or not in the sense that if it motivate us to be hardworking and get our own it is good but if we want it at all cost that we don't mind killing the owner to acquire the thing or steal it, is bad. we often perform a similar act occasionally knowingly or unknowingly, when we copy someone else work without giving acknowledgement to them this bring us to plagiarism.

What is plagiarism

According to the Merriam-Webster online dictionary, to "plagiarize" means:

"to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own"source

plagiarism is when we claim other person work, thought, idea or expressions as our own without given them due acknowledgement. it is punishable under the law. plagiarism sometimes may be knownly or unknowingly or due to our recklessness that why we must be intentional in avoiding plagiarism.

How to avoid plagiarism

1 . Always keep track of your source
2 . Always cite your work correctly
3 . Avoid copying people words and ideas
4 . To avoid unintentional plagiarism always use a plagiarism checker to check your work before posting or using it.

Reasons why we should always avoid plagiarism

1 . it hurt people feeling and emotions to see their work been stolen or copy without their permission or intention.
2 . it encourages laziness and discourage hardwork.
3 . if plagiarism should continue the word and academic body will not move forward as new ideas will not be built.
4 . plagiarism will lead to given reward to the wrong person.
5 . it is morally bad.

In conclusion,

plagiarism is not smartness but foolishness. Hardwork and respect for humanity and other people ideas, thought and word is the right way.
