Waiting to live

in #philosophy5 years ago

There is something to be said about the value of delayed gratification. That is, that there are plenty of things in life that require time to mature, to grow, to nurture, and if we have the foresight to play the long game, we are sure to reap in all the benefits when the time comes, but sadly, not everything works this way, nor it should.

This may be too anecdotal, but I'm sure plenty of my readers know people like this, and thus can relate to what I'm saying. Maybe you have a friend or a relative, who is waiting, waiting for things to happen, for the right time to come around, and do little to nothing to take charge or create the opportunity to live a little. As life would have it, I have a few people in my life that are like this, and it always saddens me to see them in that predicament.

The reasons why some people choose to leave life for later are different, but there's an overall theme surrounding all of them. "There's not enough time, People are not the same anymore, The world is changing" - etc, etc, etc. I mean, it's not that I don't see where they are coming from, and it's not that at some point in time I've not shared some of those nihilistic thoughts, but I remember distinctly recognizing how those attitudes, how that outlook, kept me rooted in "the wait", so to speak.

I'm not discarding the bad, bad things do happen, I'm simply trying to say that good happens too, but we fail at times to recognize it.

Greetings @meno

from what I understand you talk about staying in the comfort zone, from where everything must be solved, but normally the solutions do not come alone, we must go out and look for them.

In a world where technology allows the globalization of ideas, where technology is opening new markets, staying in a comfort zone can be a cultural and financial suicide.

In order not to be victims of stagnation, we must understand, accept and be part of the changes.

Time stops for no one so we must adapt to changes accordingly and occupy ourselves to move forward despite challenges. Those who wait will never seize opportunities.

Nice post. Too easily we let our decisions in the past weigh down our future. I really think there will be another bull run in crypto, and now is the time to take action at work or investing in order to prepare for another potential run this winter. At least that's what I'm focusing on right now.

Excellent review @meno and for myself, I realized that you need to live life to the fullest and appreciate every second of your time!

What exactly i am understanding is you are trying tell the longer we wait a right time to come to do a thigs the shorter we will be able to achieve a goal.
