Can the government really ban crypto?

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

The answer is both yes, and no. The lawmakers and the clowns in suits can sit down at the proverbial table a draw up all the reasons as to why Bitcoin and the ecosystem as a whole is a bad thing for the world. This of course should not surprise any of us in the slightest. Why would a government want to release its economical grip on its people? Why would they want true Democracy? Let's not be absurd.

Today's lunch special is some reheated FUD

For dessert we have a vague promise that offers no actual implementation. I trust you will find these news reassuring as you dump all your bags into the hands of people that understand how this whole thing works. The truth is my friends, this news cycle if you will is design to take money from those who are inexperienced, and give it to those who have been on this roller coaster for much longer.

So there you have it, you got people on both sides of the isle, influential people shilling their position as they should. Here we have Mcaffee yelling at the cooks for wanting to change the menu of the restaurant.

The effect this man has in the markets is something funny to me. I mean, did he actually say something revealing? Something that made anyone say - "Oh meh gard... revelation.... omg omg omg" - Obviously not, but the herds or hordes (pick your word) of people need for the prophets to speak up to feel reassured of their decisions.

Go brew some coffee... relax

The trend is up, it has always been up, it will continue to be up. Keep on posting, keep on powering up and don't let these fears get to you. Our peaceful revolution is unstoppable, it simply is, they would have to destroy the internet to stop it, and what are the chances of that?

If I may relate this to my experience with the government's war on another online activity that's profitable for smart people, online poker: if they try to ban it, it won't go away, but a lot of the easy money will dry up. Some crypto companies will do profoundly illegal things to stay afloat, and that will work for a while, but eventually they'll get caught and there will be another contraction round. The community will get smaller, and the people within it will be forced to get immensely better at what they do. Eventually things will start to open up again and the people who stuck around will have far more skill than those who left.

And most importantly: the people with money already in the system will have a huge advantage over those who have to try to get here from fiat. Build value now while it's easy.

Sage observations my friend... I'm not going anywhere.

Can crypto really ban government?

YES!!! hahahhhah

It can
but... everything banned is more attractive :D

hellz to the yeah!

Bankers, replace all instances of government with bankers because the government DOESN'T control economy when it can't even issue money. Why would the bankers release their grip on economy is the question, and the answer is a resounding because that's like asking why would a fool standing on the railroad tracks gonna stop a train at full speed?

The fed isn't Federal or Government in the least, plus why would anyone think that demo-cracy or Mob-rule is something that the plutocrats wouldn't salivate over: aren't the masses easy to control in groups? What we need is a cohesion and not a majority vs a minority. Literally 100 people armed with guns getting out of 2 buses at 1500 Pennsylvania Ave and arresting the treasonous vermin and god hope they put a bullet in the back of their domes very very soon after, for all the advisors, and "experts" then move onto the congressmen and women and anyone else who's there, even the fucking cooks, that's how I envision the first of the two coming American Revolutions.

You are 100% correct there bud... its not the government, its the bankers. You paint a grim picture, but I can't say that wont happen, I honestly can't.

It's far worse than that, that thing at 1500 Pennsylvania Ave has never been Government, it's always a British Owned and Controlled Corporation which by now has declared bankruptcy 3 times. Our Countries Federal Government has always been In Pennsylvania at Independence Hall.

The reason we went to war with England was because they didn't allow people to issue their own money, not because of a tea tax, if you want to read the soundest monetary policy check out Benjamin Franklin's A Modest Proposal.

You won't get an argument from me there, I kind of believe this to be the case myself. I remember the day I learned that the Federal Reserve was an independent Private Organization... it all started to make sense then.

Your post really scared me brother at first. If government bans crypto what will be our hope on bitcoin and it's ecosystem like steemit. I agree with you, we have to be both optimistic and pessimistic as far as this issue is concerned,. Though I never for once think this could ever because I believe some of the people In power actually have their take in this system. Or what do you think brother?

Its gonna be fine, we have to stop thinking short term, that is all.

I like John Mcaffee but it has been reported by some that he may have accepted large sums of money to promote things in cryptocurrency that were actual scams. And the government issue. This video speaks pretty loudly. I hear a lot of positive support.

I'm sure that is true, to think there is no corruption in any economical system is to be naive... but, my point is more that the tech is not going anywhere... it might not look the same 20 years from now, in the same way nobody uses altavista anymore to find stuff online.

The governments can do whatever they want, people have given them that power at this point. Free humans that don't submit can also do whatever they want. :)
