✅ What do you think are the main reasons for youth to become addicted to drugs?

The youths are the strongest pillar of every society, country or nation. Addiction it's taking the part of our youths thereby increasing crime in the society. Addictions are been caused by depressions, heartbreaks, illiteracy, discrimination, peers, environment, and quest for strong being.

For instance, few years ago after my secondary school, I met this class of mine looking shattered. I know deep down in me that something was wrong with him and when I asked why he appeared the way he was, he said he has been sick for some days.

Letting the matter slide because I don't want him to assume that I was insinuating something else, I decided to spy on him; that was risky right? Well I just wanted to make sure he was fine.

Somebody's later, I saw him with a group of some bad boys in my street, smoking and taking all those alcoholic drinks with some tablet on the desk. When he saw me he drew away his own, then I knew what exactly was wrong. It has been peers all this while.

Some youths believe that taking drugs helps them forget their problems, look tough, or belong to the group of big boys. Some is as a result of the environment where they grow up. You can't be surrounded by drug addicts and expect not to join them example is the ghetto areas where drugs are seen as a symbol of being strong.

While some are pushed to take drugs due to discriminations from the society, family and friends, they believe true happiness are found in drugs.

✅ What is the extent of drug addiction in your society? Do you think it's important to prevent drug addiction among youth?

Drug addiction in my society is alarming, like it becomes very difficult to see a decent youth who isn't a drug addict especially in the males.
Everyone feels it's normal but then crimes keep increasing and lives are lost.

It will be of great important to youths, society, families to prevent drug addiction among youths. According to my Dad, in the olden days it's can never be heard that a child beat up his or her parents what changed now? Youths now beats their parents mercilessly with no atom of regret or pity.

The same parents that gives them life and you think it's normal? Sometimes I wonder if this century of youths are like this what will before of the next century? What will become of the next generation? The little children who looks up to the youth for moral conducts what will be their fate?

Preventing drug addiction, will restore peace, peace of mind, love, harmony, growth, development, and oneness in the society.

✅ How can you encourage them to make healthy choices and what steps do you think would be effective to save them?

The government has a great role to play on this, they can isolate the drug addicts from the good ones, keep them in a place where they can be taken care of both mentally, spiritual and academic wise including the elites.

Provide job opportunities, it will interest you to know that so many drug addicts are as a result of unemployment. Educate our youths, tell them the dangers in drugs, tell how far they have destroyed their lifes and other people's life. They need help from me, us, the government, organizations and parents.

Don't discriminate them, show them love, let them feel loved and understand how we need each other, off course no man is an island.

We all hope for a better society and we must work together to achieved it.
