Curious, Mandarin & Ginja Ninja Beers
Saturday! Saturday! Saturday!
I don't know about you but I have had a heck of a day. Building flat pack furniture can be a thirsty affair so I am all set to get beering!!
A fine trio of beers on offer today. Let me get tore in to the first.
Aye aye, I might be going out on a limb but I suspect that oranges might somehow be involved in this one. Let's see. Yep, orange peel and some weird mandarina hops. It's 6.8% strong. What the heck happened to normal strength beers?!
It's a very deep amber. Pleasingly so. Nice head, not too big. And the taste...
Blegh. What in the name of Zeus? It's strong, it's so very dry and bitter, not really in a good way. Ruuuuur, it's clatty and I am quite a lenient judge of beers.
Don't get me wrong, I stick with it in the hope it improves but yech. Where the heck is the orangey'ness? The aftertaste is lingering in my mouth like I've licked a dog's arse.
Let's get onto something else, quick before I start smashing up my own house in apoplectic rage.
This sounds like quite the bad boy. From the Scottish Fierce brewery.
I must say, I am quite taken with the description. Habanero chilli is one of my favourite chilli's. Not sure about the lemongrass but hey ho.
Pours cloudy and pale, nice head which evaporates quite quickly. It's zingy on the tongue. In fact it tastes almost like a watery ginger beer. It's quite pleasant. Refreshing. It's a very nice drink and you know, it's one that I would buy again for sure although it lacks some body.
About halfway down I start to notice the habanero more and appreciate it more. I think the first beer might have ruined my mouth as this one gets better and better as I go on.
What beer doesn't though? ;0)
So onto our final beer.
What a great name, Curious Brew. I like the design of this one despite it being less flamboyant than my usual favorites. Brewed with champagne yeast they claim. Sounds flipping marvelous. Should I break out the cigars and ask the footman to fuel up the yacht?
Oh my, what a pleasant little hussy of a beer, it's got a great hoppy aroma and tastes flipping marvelous. Pale golden yellow and very crisp. It has that slight champagne fizz which gives it a very clean taste. I will be buying more of these for sure.
It makes me a happy beer drinker!!
Now, my mission is to drink a lot more to blot out the pain of flat pack furniture building which looms large for the morrow!!

This mandarina flavour sounds better than it taste for sure. I only like lemon flavour once in a while!
I have had few orange'y beers and they have been great but this had no orange or flavour beyond burny bitter boggingness

Great beer review as usual. That Modus Mandarina sounds like a beast. Have you ever had a beer for a review that you couldn't finish?
It was horrible, I couldn't finish that one. Well, I could have but it would have been putting myself through unnecessary grief. I tried a fair bit as sometimes it takes a bit of a drinking to appreciate the taste but it just didnt work with that one. Yeah, so there have been a few!
Okay, I dont feel bad now. Lol. Ive had that experience with a few, like Rogue's Voodoo Donut. I tried. I really did. Couldnt hack it. I may do a review on that one, but that means i have to taste it again, knowing I will pour the rest out. The pains we go through to bring beer reviews to steemit. :)

I'm interested in this habanero flavor, can't say I have had something with as much heat as a habanero in a beer before.
It was very tame. Could have done with a lot more habanero. On saying that it is one I would by again :O)
I am going to see what I can find around me that has some habanero in it. There has to be something here.
There are a few chilli beers, I know there is another habanero one but can't There the brewery
My hunt is on! Hopefully I can find one before Friday, would love to include it in the Friday Craft Brew Series.

Ginja Ninja haha! I like the name and design a lot. I'm glad the Curious Beer didn't disappoint with the champagne, since the design didn't really make me curious :/
So sorry to hear that the Mandarin one failed to pass the test. That's 2 now. I forgot the first thumbs-down beer, but I've been keeping a count of the fail pale ales (yes, that's the count name in my mind) I was going to say that the design seemed meta, in the sense that they were agent oranges. I guess it was still meta, in a "let's forget all about it"-kind of way. Sad face.
Yes it was very meta! I liked the design. Had high hopes but poor show!

I think I shall pass on the dog's-lick orange. The face alone would convince anyone of it's worth. Maybe...clean the white-walls on the auto? Other's do look quite grand.
