More Swiss Architecture 2!
After roaming around for a number of days, I came to develop an admiration for the Gothic style buildings that were dotted around the city. These were often religious establishments such as churches and featured pointed arches. Some of them would consist of tall standing pillars at their entrances it made their presence all the more noticeable. With roman influences spreading throughout Switzerland, it was no surprise that there were many churches that were built in the gothic roman style.
One of the greatest features of these buildings are their exquisite stained glass windows. The buildings are often large in structure and plane in colour. But the stained glasses add a contrasting touch of artistry and history. Often depicting biblical stories, it was exciting to have a close look at these story telling windows.
