Flags and a Story 3!
Interestingly, the presence of the Romans in the past has also seen the cross referred to as “la crusch svizra”. The white cross has held meaning across the world but this in particular has been employed as a symbol on the battle field. These are often used on war participants and flags. It is the embodiment of the Christian cross that was also seen many centuries before during conquests. The flag was first officially used in the early 1800s and saw iterations a few decades later.
The new revision would be the one that remains to this very day and a standardised ratio was prescribed for the white cross and surrounding red. This flag can be seen all around Switzerland and will also be seen on many sailing ships that traverse the waters around the world.
