New shoes! Didn't pay with Steemit! Thanks mom!

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Every 6 to 8 months I NEED to buy new shoes. I'm not a shoe addict, I just really really need new shoes!
This is a photo of 8 months ago when I bought a pair.

Holes? Tape? What do you do with your shoes?!

Holes: Parkour!
Tape: to fill up the holes so I can use the shoes for longboard :)

I always walk around with holes in my soles for a couple of weeks before I buy new ones. I don't like buying them. They're expensive, hard to find and don't last that long. I've always loved New Balance, but the quality got worse over the last years (or I've been training more often and been doing bigger jumps etc).

fixing the holes

I tried to fix with duct tape, it lasts long, is not water proof, and has no grip at all.
Now I've tried pasting 'roof seal', but it won't dry for some reason. It stays too sticky, but feels a lot like rubber.

I found a cheaper lookalike!

€50 in stead of €75
Less sportive look
Same model

Do you know of any way on fixing shoes for not too much €€?

PLEASE leave a comment :)

Have a nice day!

Sort:

Beeing a skateboarder, I have to buy new ones every 25-30 days. I feel your pain bro ;)

Damn, being a skater is even worse. Sanding your shoes the whole day :p

yep, but beeing sponsored helped me save a lot of cash.

Nice job on that!
I've had a couple of jobs with parkour, but nothing like a sponsor for your clothes/gear.

Nearly done with school, nearly time to make money :-D

Some old Cobblers/Shoe makers can make a completely new shoe bottom but I dont know if you have small shoe making shops in your city/country because where I live, they're businesses were ruined by big companies and large taxes.
Another thing that REALLY helps in SHOE GOO. And it is avaliable in almost every skateshop, check if you have skateshops in your town, this could really help you save some money.

Thanks a lot!
Found out about Shoe Goo on Google, still haven't found it in any skate/shoeshops around. I've asked a couple of shoe repair shops for this stuff and they didn't know this existed :P
Maybe I should order it online :-D

Congrats on new Shoe, Why dont you buy shoes with hard rubber sole ... , Just thinking, By the way following you ...

Thanks for the follow! Followed you back! Interesting posts :-)

Hard rubber soles are hard to find on 'sportive' shoes. Foam soles are being sold everywhere now.
Also with a hard sole I've got less touch under my feet. Thanks for your thoughts
