Why we lost appetite for prayer

Hello Church, hello Steem friends, welcome to my blog page. Today I’ll talk on prayer and it’s effect on the earth.

What is prayer, when was it introduced?

According to the scriptures, prayer is as old as humanity, prayer is a connection or a mode of transmission from the physical to the spiritual and from the spiritual to the physical realm as case may be.

God himself established prayer as a link to reaching out to his physical kingdom which is programmed in time. What do I mean by his physical kingdom been programmed in time? It’s a story that is huge in nature but I’ll touch it a little as it relates to prayer that we’re talking about. God has finished everything outside time, but it’s our responsibility to bring those finished work of God in time which we operate in. For instance, Christ healed us from the foundation of the world but we still through prayers bring healing to the sick in every generation.

The purpose of God in creating or placing man on earth after his creation of the earth is to have a part of him to run the earth and communicate back to heavenly host through a link called prayer, therefore it could be said that prayer is a tool for establishing the kingdom of God on earth.

Prayer surfaced on the earth immediately after God created human, it’s only humans that has praying ability because they’re gods, meaning that they’re part of eternal Godhead. After God created Adam, they started to commun through prayers, yes, Bible recorded how God comes to have fellowship and communion with them in cool evenings, before the fall of man, prayer was more of discoursing with God, prayer is not a time to ask and ask for personal wants, prayer could come in many forms, but the sum of it all is that it’s meant to establish the kingdom of God which God has made man his coworker; what a privilege hallelujah!

Effective prayer

To understand why and how prayers becomes effective, we should understand why and what it’s meant for. Let’s hear from brother James. James 4:1-5 (KJV)

From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?

Let’s start from the ending part that says, Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?

This is the spirit of Christ or part of God in man that help man by making sure that man is focused on the purpose while he’s placed on earth, so whenever man leaves his duty which is to represent God on earth and start building his own kingdom which Satan sold to him in the garden which is self, any time that we leave the business of the kingdom and start concentrating on self, the spirit in us is hurt seeing us becoming friendly with the world and leaving our father’s business.

Now James is addressing the church, does it look like us? Yes off course! We have turned prayer into something else, hardly you see folks praying for the kingdom and for righteousness of God to be established on earth, but we’re busy praying for our wants and lustily desires; for houses, for cars, for husbands and wives, for children and wealth. I found it weird seeing how people stress themselves in repeating prayers without answers, it looks as if the children of light has tuned into the prophets of Baal, people are being encouraged to bring their yearly prayer points that doesn’t have anything to do with the burdens of the Lord but purely on self and individual wants, and you see churches coming together week to week just to talk about themselves, pray for themselves and their wants. This is why our prayers are not effectual and effective because they’re strange to the interpretation of the kingdom of God.

Learn from Jesus.

Jesus was a man who understood perfectly the will of God and why he was sent, and till today, there’s no one who should be said that has prayed like Jesus, during his time in the flesh, he utilized prayer for the very reason why it is made, to an extent that his followers asked him to teach them how to pray.

I believe that most of us can even recite those ideas that Jesus gave his disciples on how to pray, but in case you don’t know, please read them here: Matthew 6:5-13 (KJV).

And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Jesus never prayed for himself nor for his wants, he focused on the kingdom establishment, one thing that many failed to understand is that whenever we’re praying for the kingdom of God and his righteousness to be established, such prayer covers everything about us, both our needs, food, clothes, shelter, finances etc. but instead of dying to self, we enthrone self which means shooting ourself on the foot.

Maybe some other time we may elaborate on the teaching that Jesus taught his disciples on how to pray.

In conclusion

We’re the ambassador of the kingdom of God our Heavenly Father, and we should drop self and friendship with the world and mind after the business of our father.

Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. Luke 10:2 (KJV)

There’s no other way to be recognized in heaven and before the throne of God and his archangels but through standing in the gap for the kingdom of God and his righteousness! Angels are dispatched anytime there’s a voice from the earth establishing the kingdom of heaven on earth through prayers! Let’s not make ourselves fools before our maker through selfish prayers that bothers on personal wants and desires.

Seriously Note:

There’s an agenda to silence the gospel in the world, the enemy is pushing this ugly agenda through the government, I don’t know how many of us that are sensitive in the spirit concerning this. Maybe we can talk about it soon so that maybe our eyes gets opened to see how expedient prayer is and what to pray for, it’s getting to the extent that our faith is being challenged by the world, to the extent that when you reference the scriptures, you become culprit and they begin to question your authority and from there prosecute you! There’s lots of compromises today in our world, the church must not keep silent else, they get us silenced through what they’re bringing into their constitutions. It’s becoming obvious that we’re pilgrims and strangers in this world.
