THE PARABLE OF THE TALENTS (summary)
SERVANTS WITH TWO AND ONE TALENT.
The lord of the house was pleased with his servant with 5 talent who made profit of extra five.
Two talent:
The lord at that point swung to the second servant, who stated, "Ruler, you gave me two, here's four." And the lord said a similar thing to him: "Well done, great and dedicated worker. You have been faithful over a bit; I will set you over much. Go into the delight of your lord" (v. 23).
At that point we go to the peak of this parable, including the worker who had gotten the single ability.
He was full of excuses. What's more, he framed allegations against his lord: "Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, harvesting where you didn't sow, and gathering where you scattered no crops
so I was apprehensive, and I went and concealed your ability in the ground. Here, you have what is yours" (vv. 24– 25).
The lord was angry. He stated:
You fiendish and lethargic servant! You realized that I harvest where I have not sown and accumulate where I scattered no seed? At that point you should have deposited my cash with the investors, and at my coming I ought to have gotten what was my own with interest.
So take the ability from him and offer it to him who has the ten gifts. For to everybody who has will more be given, and he will have a plenitude. In any case, from the person who has not, even what he has will be taken away. (vv. 26– 29)
The worker had been entrusted with the lord's assets yet had been reluctant to take a risk. The trust put in him involved the desire to develop what he had been given—and that implies taking bold steps and taking risks. They must be astute, figured dangers, however all things considered, the lord blamed the worker for neglecting his opportunity and risk management and rather capitulating to fear. At any rate in a bank, the cash would have been saved and would have earned some interest income. As it seemed to be, the worker misused the trust that had been put on him, so the lord took the talent from him and offered it to one who had shown himself to be all the more profitable—the one with ten talents.
You know, we're all unfruitful workers. Without the grace of God, we couldn't amount to anything. In any case, we are called to be steadfast with that we are entrusted with. The sluggish worker was underhanded. He lost what the lord had given to him, and after that heard the horrendous instruction: "Cast the useless worker into the outer darkness. In that place there will sob and horrifying displays of violence" (v. 30). You recognize what that implies. Send him to hellfire. Send him where there won't be joy of the Lord. What a terrible situation Jesus portrays for the ineffective one who profess faith however who demonstrates no product of that faith. The situation of the unrewarding worker is the same as the predicament of the foolish virgins.
I don't know about you who is reading this article right now on steemit, however I would prefer not to be the place the main sound I hear is sobbing and the horrifying displays of violence. I need to be the place I hear the voice that says, "Well done, great and loyal servant. Go into the joy of your lord."
