SHOULD CHRISTIAN COUPLES DIVORCE?
What the law says about divorce and what Christ says about divorce.
A family that is built in the love of Christ should be found in divorcing state, even when a partner is not a believer, Paul says that it’s okay for a believing partner to love his/her unbelieving partner because through such means, his or her heart might be converted to Christ and such soul will be saved and family saved as well.
Divorce occurs as a consequence of faulty foundation, misplaced priorities, conflicts of interest, uncontrolled wrath and anger, and other wicked acts in marriages which when considered, non of those characters are of the fruits of the spirit rather they’re all works of fresh, it also affects children the negative way, divorce is seen where love is seriously lacking, and I’ll suggest that couples should learn how to cultivate and nurture love in their home so that such offenses that may warrant divorce will be overcome always by their abounding love.
Matthew 5:27-33
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
