My life took a turn since childhood which some of my friends considered weird, I’ve tried to change it but yet it didn’t work!

My nephew goalkeeper

Just like a non smoker has no time to start looking for no-smoking 🚭 sign at the coffee, that’s how I’ve felt for over thirty years of my life concerning football until few days back that my two nephews who are footballers invited me over at one of their finals at Zik’s International stadium.

I tried coming up with excuses but at the end I concluded within myself that these kid brothers needs my support at least.

My stay at the game didn’t help matters at the first half of the game as I witness live what it feels to become a fan to a football club. Yes I was there to cheer up my siblings but I nearly got heart attack watching the game, it was really a battle ground for those under seventeenths who were struggling for under seventeenths south-east tournament finals.

First half ended up with no goals but as they began the second half, things became tougher as the two opponents became more aggressive and desperate to win the match which may project them for federal recognition and eventually land some Europe for football academics.

My nephew saving the day

One of my nephews happened to be the coach to their team; he entered into football at earliest stage of his life, went to the university, graduated and now pursuing his football career as a couch, he raised this football team from scratch and now he’s a happy young man because they’re now recognized by the state and most cases represents the state in some of their under seventeen competitions in Nigeria.

The tournament ended its full time with 1-1 which landed them in penalty shootout that went to the favor of my siblings as they saved two goals!

My nephew coach and his team was over excited which you can witness in the picture above as they raised him up in jubilation!

I didn’t regret honoring their invitation as they made me proud by bringing the cup home.

Indeed football is fun and good, who knows, this singular experience of mine could change my view of football and give my a reason to give football a chance in my life.

Blood is thicker than water, family is everything

I owe this children my support and love, wishing them the best in their football career!
