Understanding of the love of Christ and the mercifulness of our God who loved us so much that he came to help us become alive again in him should humble every soul that have tested the goodness of God, such godly sorrow that worketh true repentance in us, a humble spirit, and constant dependence on the spirit of Christ unto acceptance on the mercy of God in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.

A broken heart and a contrite spirit will God never despise, therefore, before him we cast ourselves down, not trusting in ourselves for anything, for our strength comes from him alone, for He has become the author of our salvation, for the lord despises the proud but give grace to the humble. For by grace we are saved, not by the good things that we do.

Matthew 5:4

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

I will love thee, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
my God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised:
so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
The sorrows of death compassed me,
and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.
The sorrows of hell compassed me about:
the snares of death prevented me.
In my distress I called upon the Lord,
and cried unto my God:
he heard my voice out of his temple,
and my cry came before him, even into his ears.
