So I've got this idea...
Ok Steemers,
I've got an idea. And it's my favorite idea. I've fostered it for years. Refining the design and concept ad nauseum... I've nurtured this idea, and held it really tight to the vest for some time now, for fear of some nefarious ne'erdowell doing it, and reducing it's novelty.
But, I'm here, on steem, and actually see that this platform could be the opportunity to get this idea out of my head and into the real world.
But, to realize that, I would have to tell everyone about my great idea. Which is nerve wracking for me.
So I ask you, what would you do?
Open your idea to the public, with hopes that the steem community can help me realize my idea... Or keep it under wraps and wait for some miraculous windfall that will help me bring this idea to life?
I'd love to hear your thoughts.
The likelihood of never acting on it is huge if you never tell anyone about it, or take the initial steps to making it happen. If your idea is about making money for you then maybe get a provisional patent, but if it is just about wanting it to come to life... forget about protecting the money, and GO FOR IT
That's where I'm at right now too. I'm thinking if I keep it to myself it'll never happen, if I share it, it's at least provisionally more likely to actually occur. Thanks for the input!
Yeah man. I think greed or fear keeps us from letting things out that could be great. If you add value to those around you, money will chase you.

if you have an Idea I believe you can try to get an intellectual patent on it before releasing it to the public.
however this patent still probably won't stop the Chinese from stealing it
my suggestion is find some trusted partners/developers and have them sign an agreement with you (you will obviously have to share some of the profits with them) then release a Beta type version when ready - you should be way ahead of anyone else! Good luck.

It's only by acting on our dreams that they become goals. If you share them with the right people, and you do it when you're ready to commit, then you should definitely open up and share.
Remember, it's not just the idea- it's the delivery.
Totally up to you study on it and when you feel it the go will be ready.
