RE: Deceptively Optimistic Self-Shilling Posts Hurt Steemit

in #steemit7 years ago

Good post. It's really discouraging to see folks with lower reps than myself getting traction on really shitty posts. It's like they engage just long enough to figure out the masturbatory formula that gets them votes. But they are empty votes, and it's empty content.

I've largely gone to only posting when I have the time and inspiration to create a quality post. I started my first month or so with the goal of posting at least once a day, but quickly realized I'm actually diluting the quality of content here by forcing shitjust to get a few bites from minnows...

I don't know, I guess I haven't stumbled into a formula that guarantees returns yet, or rather, I refuse to spam a bunch of post jerking off the community.

As I said, it gets pretty discouraging sometimes if you're not willing to stroke off a few whales to get votes. I'm sticking to the platform because I see it's potential value, but I hope more folks start to see the light, and illuminate the others, like you have here.

I feel exactly the same way, thanks for putting my thoughts and feelings into words

well said. it takes time indeed and it is kinda hard to be seen when you first start.
