The World's First Rocket 🚀

Hello guys. Hope you are having a good time in this Ramadan and going through better situations. I am new here in Steemit. I am @masiyat. This is my first post in this community. So, today I am going to talk about the world's first rocket made by Robert Goddard.

On the day of 16th March 1926, the world's first rocket flew into the sky. And this work was done by the American physicist Robert Goddard. The Goddard is named after NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, 6.5 miles from Washington DC. Since the rocket had never been built before, Robert Goddard was very confused about the design of the rocket.

He thoughtfully placed an angular metal object through four iron bars on top of their slender fuel tank. This angular metal object was their desired rocket. That means the original rocket and fuel engine were different. Used gasoline and oxygen as fuel. Unfortunately, the rocket caught fire just as it was preparing to take off. But Robert Goddard didn't realize it because of fuel burning.

But even then the rocket soared into the sky. The rocket's nozzle melts just 41 feet into the sky. In just 2.5 seconds, the rocket hit the ground at a speed of 60 miles per hour, 164 feet from the lift-off spot. This was the story of the world's first rocket flight. Note that the first rocket flew from the United States long before NASA was established. One of NASA's most widely used space flight centers, named after Robert Goddard, is named, one year after its founding.
