The Biltmore Estate is the largest privately owned house in the United States. It was built by George W. Vanderbilt. It took over 6 years to build. It has over 178,000 square feet! It has 250 rooms, 35 bedrooms, 43 bathrooms and 65 fireplaces!
The Banquet Hall is the largest room of the estate. It is 72 feet long by 42 feet wide. The ceiling is 70 feet high!
It has three fireplaces.
It could seat 64 people!
On one end it had a pipe organ.
Here is the main entrance.
This was the breakfast room.
Look at that ceiling!
Some outside grounds. They had at one time over 100,000 acres!
I will post some more rooms in the next post.
