Flower portraits [Original Photography]

So before the first frost of the year comes along and kills all the flowers in the garden (mind you, based on how warm it was today here, I am not sure we will even see a frost this year), I took the opportunity to get out and take some shots of some flowers. I've done similar before with my small portable diffuser to get pretty good lighting (although it could be better) and a very separated background. There is nothing directly behind the flowers so the light has pretty much fallen off before it can light anything that is there (see the inverse square law for more information). Hope you like these shots, all taken with the Canon 60D and Sigma 105 DG HSM Macro lens, Lastolite diffuser, and 580 EX flash
