Happy Feet

Today I will talk about a film that particularly caught my attention when I first saw it.

I've seen this film about 14 or 15 times, it was released I think after my son was born but it wasn't until many years later that I was able to understand it and live it completely.

This film is called Happy Feet, talks about some penguins, birds whose behavior at the level of couple or family, is matriarchal, the female is the one who goes out to look for food while the male takes care, the eggs puts them between his legs to give him heat and walks with them, from there that the penguins have the particularity of having the very short legs and that added to his coat makes him warm.

This film shows us the journey of a penguin population that lacked food, the father in a bad footprint releases the egg and the egg rolls, rolls and falls, giving itself a very strong blow, which is why everyone in the penguin community is alert to the growth of the egg.

When the time comes for the little penguins to hatch it turns out that the last one to come out is this egg that fell, for some reason the egg does not hatch contemporaneously with the others but many moments later it implodes, the worried penguin father sees his baby and it is normal, moments later the mother arrives from fishing bringing fish and giving them to the little penguin.

Her husband tells her that she is very well and as time goes by the penguin begins to go to school and it turns out that he is different from the others, within the film the penguins sing at school, it is their habit, to sing and play music, but this little penguin has the particularity that he cannot do it because his voice is not harmonic, that is to say he does not have a good voice and he discovers that this music moves at his feet and that is what makes him completely different from the others.

This penguin apart from not singing has his thoughts a little more literal than the others, he is different from the others and that is why he is judged and condemned, the poor man apart from having the label of the whole penguin community also feels the contempt of his father, who demands him to behave like the others and he cannot, he simply answers that he is not like that, so his father turns his back on him and tells him to leave because if he is not equal everyone cannot live with them.)

Here I stop with the film, and then has its development, but I want to note the beginning because often happens to us and we want our children to behave in a way equal to others and it is not, as is the penguin who did not sing but danced so are our children, suddenly are not like others, have no identical skills but have other virtues.

So I invite you today, dad, mom, grandma, brother, caregiver, to see your child in a special way that even if he doesn't sing but dances and dances very well, then develop his virtues and forget about his shortcomings.
