White House

in #architecture7 years ago

SJB has renovated a small pavilion-style house inspired by Japanese architecture and natural materials. The house, located in the Australian seaside town of Rye, was thought for an indoor / outdoor living.

At the front of the house, access steps to a small patio that leads directly into the living room through a large sliding glass door. In the living room, a large "L" shaped sofa is centered on the fireplace, while along the wall is a bench that wraps and becomes the staircase and the fireplace hearth. In the kitchen, the wooden cabinets are combined with black countertops. Another sliding door at this end of the house opens onto an outdoor area. Outside there is a terrace with a BBQ and an outdoor kitchen, and a pergola provides shade for the outdoor dining area. A sliding door on the deck leads to the bedroom and its bathroom. The house also has a second bathroom located on the side of the dining room. A large wooden cabinet on the ceiling adds a natural touch to the space. The interior design is signed Ljiljana Gazevic.
