To love our fellows as ourselves means to have with them the attitude that we would like them to have with us and give them the treatment we would like to receive.
Well Jesus said: "All the things you want men to do to you, you also have to do to them" (Matthew 7:12). We observe that Jesus did not say that we were always thinking about some offense from the past and that we should pay with the same coin. Rather, it encouraged us to think about how we would prefer that others behave with us and then act in the same way with them. It should also be noted that he did not limit the application of his advice to brothers and friends, because he used the word "men", probably to encourage us to follow this rule of conduct with all the people we meet.
This tells us that we not only have to love those who do us good but also our enemies, forgive those who have hurt us at some point, the one who truly loves must be willing to forgive, express it with words and actions during all our life.
We must act with justice, kindness, servile, generous, with all those who cross our path, love our parents, brothers, children, all our relatives, neighbors, friends to our enemies, all without excluding anyone to avoid evils, suffering and violence that wants to clothe the world. It is in each one of us to contribute our grain of sand to be good people as our heavenly father taught us.
