The Easy Way to Remember the Pattern of 16 Tenses (Cara Mudah untuk Mengingat Rumus 16 Tenses)

The problem of many students are lazy to study English is the pattern of tenses. Before we try to explain the function of tenses, it is better we discuss about how to remember the pattern of 16 tenses easily. I got this way from my lecturer when I joint IELTS training for lecturer in Semarang in 2010. He said, we must not memorize all the pattern of the 16 tenses, but we just remember 5 of them. Because the rest of them are the combination from 5 tenses.
What are they?

1. Present tense
2. Past tenses
3. Perfect
4. Future
5. Continuous
   How can?
   Let’s analize the basic pattern;
6. Present tense Subject + Verb 1 (+s/es) with tobe is, am, are.
7. Past tense Subject + Verb 2 and its tobes are was, were.
8. Perfect Subject + have + verb 3
9. Future Subject + will + verb 1
10. Continuous Subject + tobe + verb –ing
    After you can remember these five tenses, you can macth with the rest.
    For example, for tenses present perfect contiuous.
    Present, perfect, continuous
    Subject + Verb 1, have + verb3, tobe +verb-ing

Subject + have + been + verb – ing
The other Example,
Past Future Perfect
Subject + verb 2, will + verb 1, have + verb 3

**Subject + would + have + verb 3

Permasalahan yang sering di ungkapka oleh pelajar dalam belajar Bahasa Inggris ialah sulit menghafal tenses. Sebelum kita membahas tentang fungsi setiap tenses, ada baiknya kita bahas tentang bagaimana kita dapat mengingat 16 rumus tenses dengan mudah. saya mendapatkan cara ini ketika saya mengikuti training IELTS di Semarang tahun 2010. Kita tidak perlu menghafal ke 16 tenses tersebut, tetapi kita cukup mengingat 5 diantaranya. Karena tenses lain merupakan sisa dari kombinasi kelima tenses tersebut.

Itulah sedikit informasi mengenal cara mudah mengngat rumus 16 tenses. Kita hanya perlu mengingat lima saja, sisanya bisa kita kombinasikan.
