My Lola's admission 😥 - She was COVID + | 50% to steemph.charity

Hello everyone, kumusta po kayong lahat? I am @mariarosa27 from Cebu City, Philippines. Lubos po akong nanghihingi ng patawad dahil medyo matagal na nung last akong naging active sa steemit at yun ay dahil sa mga nangyayari sa ating bansa at sa mga problema na dumarating.

After the Typhoon Odette, we were so thankful to God that none of our roofs flew away unlike our neighbors. Nababasa lang kaunti yung bahay namin dahil sa ulan dala ng hangin. Nung panahong yun, nag eevacuate kami sa bahay ng Lola ko. I just thought we were already saved by that problem because we were not affected by the typhoon.

Just Last December 31, 2021 , when it was almost New Year's Eve, of course there was an electricity outage almost whole Cebu, we stayed in my Lola's house to celebrate New year despite the blackout. We were eating that time together with my cousins when my 74-year-old Lola fall down in the Floor. She is already stroked but can still able to stand, to pee and to poop and can still manage to sit down, to eat. But after that incident, my Lola got weak and as the days went by, she was no longer eating and keep on vomiting and she can no longer stand too because everytime she got strength in her legs, she felt hurt. By the way, my father is the one who takes care of her until now since the time my grandfather died.

My father was worried about the situation because my Lola got weaker. On January 12, 2022, my father decided to bring my Lola in the Hospital for her to be cured. Of course we did not bring her in the public hospital because we know how She'll be treated if we will put her there as what my Grandfather experienced. Since my sister is working in Visayas Community Hospital, one of the private hospitals here in Cebu City located @ Jones Avenue Osmeña Blvd Cebu City, she was able to reserve room for my Lola. On the first day in the ER, the Hospital already asked for P15,000 deposit and it was really hard for us to find that amount because we don't have savings. We just borrowed that amount from my Lola's brother just to continue putting her in a good hospital. After that, my auntie sent money to use for the expenses like medicines or anything the doctor will ask to buy. Naubos agad yung pera dahil sa dami ng laboratories na hiningi at included na dun yung swab test nya since yun ang protocol if ma admit ka. Yung P15,000 na pinadala ni auntie ay naubos agad so yung ibang gastusin ay na CHARGE TO BILL na. When the swab test result came out, we really didn't expect that it will come out positive 😥😭 Everyone was worried including my family because my father was her assistant and he was very exposed to my Lola 😥 Many things will get affected including our works if they will include us in the contact tracing and get quarantined 😔 My cousins and some of my relatives who are living near my Lola's house were swabbed and it was so sad to know that some of them were positive too and in fact, my 2 young cousins who went positive were brought in the isolation center but later released after 1 week. We were saved and did not include in the contact tracing since they did not swab my father until now.

As days went by, Hospital bills got higher especially on the case of covid positive. On the 1st day, the bill was P89,000 real quick and on the next day, it became P147,000. We were not able to make a deposit because we really don't have money and my Lola's children don't have money too. After 1 week, on January 19, 2022, a shocking news came to us that the bill was already P305,027.50 😱😱😱 my sister who works in the Medical Records Department was bothered because the Billing staffs asked her to deposit P100,000 in the account. We found it hard to find P15,000 how much more that P100k? OMG, 1st time in my life that I was worried with that big amount. Me and my sisters really know that my Lola's children and relatives could not make a help for the bill because they are also in need of it. No choice but to make a move!

The billing staffs really want the money right away on that day so I decided to try applying a bank loan, it was my 1st time and I couldn't imagine that I did it, knowing that it will be a big deduction on my salary but no choice 😥 By the way, I am already working in a government institution so approval for my loan application made it easier. I got the money on that day and paid it to the Hospital, my P100k was changed to paper receipt😭 . Well then, it's fine as long as the billing will stop asking my sister for the deposit 🙄

As of today, January 24, 2022, the bill came high again and it's already P249k and they were asking us again P100k deposit 😒. I just can't imagine how easy they can ask us that certain amount. 😌 My Lola is already COVID FREE because her breathing came back normal, she was told by the doctor that she is now ready to discharge so billing could no longer demand a deposit, but the thing is, my lola is experiencing another pain, her legs and her stomach but my father really decided to let her go home because the room rate per day is P3200.00 and we are really asked by the billing with that P100k deposit if not discharged. They are still in the Hospital right right now because my uncle still needs to process the remaining amount to DSWD and CHAMP since we don't have money to pay for it.

Almost everyday, my father received a prescription from the doctor and we are very thankful to God to those people He touched to help us for the medications, they sent it through cash, palawan express and gcash.

Covid deduction for my Lola's bill is only P100,000 since it's only moderate as they said, so we still have a bill of P137,489 including Doctor's PF to be paid before discharge. ui

I am still asking for your financial support to help us in these trying times, my Lola might get home but she still needs to continue her medications and the remaining bill will be processed tomorrow through CHAMP and DSWD and we are praying na sana mabilis lang ang pag process para makauwi na sina Lola at Papa bukas, the Hospital rule is Zero Billing before discharge but they still accept Letter of Acceptance to the Department who promised to pay for the bill.

Now I feel the saying "Bawal Magkasakit" because it's not really easy 😥
