Cloves - divine flower
The carnation, also known by its Latin name Diantus, is not only a flower that we are used to giving as a bouquet of our loved ones but also a beautiful plant that you can grow in a pot. See what you need to know about raising a mini cloves?
The carnation close
Mini carnation, or even Diantes, comes from the Mediterranean regions and southern Europe. It is found in over 250 varieties, each with beautiful colors and pleasant scent. Interestingly, carnation is also called a "divine flower" because its name comes from the Greek dios (Zeus) and anthos (color). It is also a joke that this is the favorite flower of the god of thunder.
Carnation is a perennial plant. There are light green leaves with a slight grayish tinge. Its colors are bright and spectacular - from pink, purple and red to colorful blends of white and cyclamen or white and purple. Carnation blooms all summer. Used as a curb plant, for a rock garden or for a beautiful balcony.
How to grow a cloves?
Carnation is a tough flower, which rarely exhibits caprice and is easily grown even by beginner gardeners.
Irrigation
Irrigate the carnation regularly, always checking that the soil is slightly dry. Otherwise, the roots can rot.
Light The
divine flower likes to stand in the sun, so it is ideal places with west, east or south exposure. Stays warm. If you grow it in a pot, winter must be kept indoors - place it in a cool, cool place.
Soil The
carnation prefers clay-sandy soil with good drainage. When transplanting, you can use a mixture of garden finger and a little sand. If you grow it outdoors, winter should protect the roots with an extra layer of dry leaves. Torch with liquid fertilizer for flowering or moisture-loving every 10 days during the active period.
