Fenris: the return
Source
Fenris had unparalleled qualities: he was a brave and implacable warrior, he was loyal, he knew how to listen and gave wise advice, he was adamant in his decisions and he had to sacrifice himself, he had stolen one of Iluna's immortality apples after all. Those qualities made him a good warrior and an enemy without equal.
King Elter always thought of the consequences of having locked the wolf Fenris. He knew that a sword hung above his head.
When things started to go badly in his kingdom he redoubled the guard where Fenris was.
Greed had led King Tyr to ally with Romulus, a king who had murdered his father to gain access to power. He had executed his brothers in public and anyone who tried to rebel was dying in the torture chamber.
The resistance against King Tyr began to take shape when he chained Fenris. Many of his commanders went to the resistance.
The army of Tyr had been reduced by the constant battles against the resistance and could no longer send his men to be sacrificed. If he had not chained Fenris, he might have made better decisions, but he should obey the Oracle. Now I was there with all the tension of the moment.
Loyal had won the heart of Fenris. He had helped and fed him behind the guards. This provided him with an unequaled friendship with that enemy. If someone discovered the tunnel Loyal would die and that's why they spoke through whispers or messages on the walls of the cave.
One day while they were talking, Fenris asked him how things were going in the kingdom of de Tyr and Loyal replied in a whisper:
-They are not good. We are being enslaved and killed, the royal guard has been persecuting all those who try to rise up.
-It is very sad that. Tyr must never ally with Romulus. Tyr betrayed me and sent me to this hole on Romulus' advice. Never forgive him! If I can get out of this place and unchain myself from this damn chain created by the dwarves, I will kill them. Scream
Loyal asked me to lower my voice, because the guard could go and kill him. Thing that happened. The guards arrived and found Loyal with Fenris. One of the guards with his spear stuck it in Loyal's heart. Another of the guards tried to approach the corpse of the intruder and Fenris strangled him with his chains. This episode was not notified to the king for fear of losing their lives.
Loyal was a cufflinks, a kind of twins who could share matter and spirit. His other half, Aileen, was the light that guided him.
Aileen felt a sharp pain in her side and saw her brother die. In his flash Loyal told him that the resistance should free Fenris.
Aileen went to where the resistance people were gathered and told them that the only way to defeat Tyr and Romulus was to free the wolf. Everyone asked how they could do it and one of the elves said that in his village there was an old woman who knew of the spell to disarm the chains with which the wolf was tied. A group of three went to look for the old woman. She prepared the spell and told them to be careful, because the ingredients no longer existed
Aileen was as Loyal indicated and seeing Fenris was immobilized. Fenris tried to kill her with his jaws, but he smelled Loyal's scent. She said whispering:
-Please do not hurt me. Loyal and I were cufflinks, we are twins of matter and spirit. He is still in me and thanks to his vital flare, I was able to reach you. We are like twins who share beyond death. I have come to propose an exit, but you must help us. The earth is dying because of Tyr and Romulus. My friends, who wait for me at the end of the tunnel, want to propose a plan. If you promise not to hurt them, they will come and talk.
Fenris thought it would be a trap, but he remembered his friend and said:
-Okay, tell them to pass.
The elf and the dwarf passed. Fenris looked at them with misgivings, since they were the magical artificers of the dwarves for whom he was chained. However, he nodded and allowed them to speak. They explained to them that Tyr had become very greedy and paranoid. He was destroying the other kingdoms and they needed to stop him or they would have no place to live. If he helped them, they would liberate him.
Fenris thought about the proposal and accepted. The condition that he would put was that he would never be locked up again. Everyone agreed that he would be free forever.
The brew prepared by the old lady was distributed by the chains and these were giving way. Fenris came out and the death toll began, devastating each and every arm of Romulus and Tyr. His wave of revenge helped liberate entire peoples.
Fenris Wolf as he called himself beheaded and sentenced all those who betrayed him. The Tyr and Romulus kings had stayed in a fortress, the walls had been built with the same material as the chains that had kept him prisoner. When discovering where they were, Fenris went with his troops, but the magical element contained in the walls towards the army of Tyr and Romulus stronger and to the troops of the less strong wolf, until he felt without force.
Fenris gathered all his commanders of troops: Centaurs, Elves, Dwarves, Ju'il, Yakes, Sibyllines to find a way to get through those walls. Tireisas, one of the older elves told them:
-The only way to break these walls was to mix the ingredients: the sound of a cat's footprint, a woman's beard, the roots of a mountain, the tendons of the bear, the breath of the fish and the saliva of the birds .
The elf recalled that these had been the ingredients to unleash Fenris and the old woman had told him that it was not there anymore.
The dwarf rummaged in his pocket and handed Fenris a medium vessel.
-Here is a little of that brew. I had hidden it because I did not think you could accept the offer to help us.
Fenris looked at him and howled.
They sent a group with armored weapons with the brew, the plan was to make their way into the walls and thus give way to Fenris. As they crossed the wall the Wolf saw his men die. Having made his way, Fenris ventured to help his men, but the closer he got, the weaker he felt.
Upon entering the castle, Fenrer was already mortal. Romulus and Tuys waited for him there.
Seeing how weak Fenris was, Romulus stuck a spear in his heart.
Romulus did not notice and stuck the spear into Fenris' side. This dying man drew strength and with his mortal jaw ripped the head from the shoulders of his enemy. Then he pounced on Tyr and with the few remaining strength he dismembered it.
With the help of Aileen Fenris, he was able to save himself. On his abdomen was a half-moon mark and he had lost his immortality, as the Oracle had said.
Reestablished part of peace on earth. Fenris with Aileen, the elf and the dwarf were headed to the temple of the goddess Semele to restore the immortality of the Wolf.
